Wal-mart Update
Guess what? I haven’t stepped foot in a walmart for almost two whole months!! And guess what else? I have spent a few hundred dollars less on groceries this month by shopping local.
But…
We are almost out of t.p.
Ruh rhroh rhaggy.
Maybe, just maybe one teeny trip to sam’s club is in order.
Although we have cut out paper towels, and dramatically reduced our trash output by composting + buying in bulk, and using cloth bags, we are not ready to go 1896 outhouse style.
A girl needs her 50 pack of quilted 2-ply, yo!
Please don’t judge me. <3

haha! I was thinking the same thing today when I was tempted to duck into WM and buy a few bags of gravel. But, I told all my friends what I was up to so they would hold me accountable. I don’t want to get busted.
My friend Mike said he is going to get me a hook up on a new grass fed beef co-op for raw milk and beef. *Hi Mike!* I shop at the granary/vitamins +, and Kroger mostly. Oh, and even though it is NOT organic, I hear Herbert’s Cajun butcher shop. We have been eating lower on the food chain lately, so my grocery bill has come down quite a lot.
I have also not purchased shoes or clothes made in China for a while. If you don’t count thrifted stuff. I just can’t bring myself to do it.
I did hit up Pier 1 for teacher gifts. 75% off! Forgive me sweatshop workers.

You don’t have to be perfect, you can still bask in the glow of all the things you DIDN’T buy there.

Yeah, well who was it that said we should conserve “just one square?”
Oh the peer pressure!
