Four Books That Changed My Financial Outlook

The Millionaire Next Door:

A comprehensive study of self made millionaires. Very eye opening.

Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover:

Simple, encouraging information for those who just getting started with paying down debt.

Suze Orman’s Women and Money; Owning the Power To Control Your Destiny:

Written by a woman for women.  This is an awesome book that takes a slightly different approch than TMM.

Talk Your Way Out of Credit Card Debt:

I know the cover looks a little squirrely, but this book is fantastic if you have balances on credit card that you want to pay off quickly.  There are actual scripts one can read from when calling creditors.  Need to know how to settle a pay off?  Drastically lower your interst rates?  Have fees erased?  It’s all in this book.

  1. Never read the talk your way out of debt book. That method never, ever worked for me. Not one single time.

    The others are wonderful though.

  2. I talked my debt down with that book. It really is awesome.

  3. I never had any luck either (asking them to lower an interest rate) but it’s cool that you did. I’m reading “The Number” that is about the number of money you need to retire on…
