My Newton cat had to be put to sleep this afternoon.  Everything happened so fast, but he got really sick and the x-ray showed kidney stones that had progressed enough to cause bad problems for him.  There is no treatment for it in cats.  He was suffering greatly, and so we heartwrechingly had him put down.  Aaron held him, and I brought the boys to say goodbye.  My Jackie is so sad.
