Ring, ring…
Me: HelloooMom: Hey, what’s upMe: Oh lots of thingsMom: Well, what are you doing today
Me: Hmmm, well Jonas just puked on the bed and carpet so, scrubbing puke carpet and stripping sheets. Uhh, I have to make a birthday cake, and get Aaron a present. Then there are four other family birthdays this weekend. I have three more loads of laundry to put away (is that stuff breeding or what?,) I need to wash my van, take the cat in for a follow up apt, cook three meals, Sew up the “weenie hole” in Jonas’ pajamas, he won’t stop bugging me about it…..you know, the usual.
Mom: guess you don’t want to go have lunch with me then
Me: That depends
Mom: On what
Me: Margaritas

You *might* get cake. I have taken all the proper precautions so that we do not have a code blue situation like last time. The cake is cooling on top of the fridge. If Lucas can get to it he deserves to eat what he wants and destroy the rest.

Your mom is so much more fun than mine. Mine’s a positive tea-totaler who tells me to stop fighting the maintenence of life chores and find the joy in cleaning up puke.
Which is why my prayer while cleaning house is: “Thank you God for my wonderful housekeeper. Thank you God for my wonderful housekeeper.”
I’m trying out the Romans 4:17 - call those things that aren’t as though they are. (Not a direct quote, too lazy to look it up).
