Dog Days of Summer

Yesterday was wonderful. The boys and I headed out of town to spend the day with family for my Grany’s 75th birthday. We went to her tiny country church (total attendance 26 yesterday.) Ate delicious country food that my auntie lovingly prepared for us. Had watermelon, and homemade peach icecream for dessert. We swam in the lake for hours watching my boys and their cousins make life time memories as they took running leaps off the pier hand in hand, and slid down the massive pool slide (circa1979) mounted to the deck while we sat in sunhats sipping sweet tea watching from our lawn chairs. It was so fantastically southern, and timeless. I felt like a little kid again.

Happy 75th Grany! I love you, and am so thankful for your unconditional love, spunky spirit, amazing cooking skills, and strong faith. I will always cherish each precious memory with you. You are one phenomenal woman.
