My thoughts on coinstar
a coinstar machine , (which I have never used because it is a rip off because 8.something percent is taken out) that you could get free gift certificates with no charges. So, I took my laundry room change jar, and my upstairs change jar to the one at Albertson’s. Both jars were overflowing with nothing but pennies…lol. It ended up being 12.00 worth of pennies. Whoohoo! BUT, when I went to choose the starbucks gift certificate it said “experiencing technical problems,” and just gave me cash. Grrrr, which had 1.07 deducted from my 12.00. I would have gone to the bank and saved myself a buck if I knew that would happen. I just thought it would be fun to change our pennies into a gift card for Aaron (he is a latenight coffee drinker,) but instead we got ripped off. So, in all, I give coinstar a thumbs down because the lady said there is no way to know if they are out of gift cards or not, and if they are you cannot reverse your transaction, and will be out the service charge. It was worth a try I suppose.]]>
