Big changes for us

We agreed that we will keep it on unti the ‘Lost’ season is over. I actually watch very little television, but I’m very adicted to two shows and love watching them on Tivo after the kids are asleep with no interuptions.

We cancelled our Net Flix too. A big reason we are cutting back is that we really, really, really want to be a 100% debt free family so that we can be free to go any where at any time that the Lord needs us. So we won’t be tied down to any obligation financially. We have been working towards this for quite some time, but are just now fine tuning our system for getting there.

We have addressed our down falls (mine is going out for lunches, and Aaron’s is just buying lots of little extras that add up,) and found a computer budget program we are happy with. I read the book “Financial Peace” some time ago, and we have been taking baby steps towards our goal of debt free living.

I’m putting myself out there so that in case others need support I can share what I know, and our experiences, and also to learn from other wise families that have achieved financial peace.

Maybe when Aaron does a redesign of my site he can make a password protected area where we can share, discuss, and offer support to each other. If anyone is interested in this please let me know. I have lots of great budget recipies to share, and am always looking for more.

I know there are lots of families out there that want to achieve this goal, and I know that I have gotten lots of “well that just isn’t realistic in this day and age,” or the sarcastic “good luck with that.” BUT I know that with God ALL things are possible, and having other Christian’s encourgement and testimony would be a wonderful thing. smile]]>
