Sick again…

Aaron and I are supposed to go to Austin tomorrow with our friends Jeff and Jody to go to the movie and book signing, but I’m having a hard time getting excited about it. I hate leaving my kids ever (the only time we ever have was when Lucas has been in ICU in Dallas,) and I especially am not keen on the idea when they are sick!

On a lighter note, Saturday the boys, and I went garage saling and to the Gladewater Good will They were having a 1.49 sale…the .99 sale is no more people. Sniff, sniff. Any way, I found lots of cute summer clothes for me. Normally I don’t look at clothes for me, but this time I got some super cute stuff. Several outfits for 20.00! I have become such a tightwad that I refuse to buy clothes at regular price at department stores. It seems too rediculous. Then I had a flash back to when I was in high school, and thought of how much I spent on doonies, and kolehaun’s and such. How foolish I was! It made me cringe a little.
I also found some things for the boys at garage sales, and we had fun enjoying the pretty day and talking to all the people we met. We went to this one garage sale at a mexican families house, there were lots of mexican people there shopping. We were the only white people there, and they were all speaking spanish to one another. I felt like a foriener, but they were soooo sweet. Jack was admiring thier garden spot and the grandpa was telling him what all they were going to plant, and Jack thought that was so cool. :-) I really wish that we knew a Mexican family that we could hang out with and learn theer culture first hand and not just from a social studies book. Most Hispanic families I have ever met have such a strong sense of family, and seem really close. They had a big carport set up with chairs and a huge BBQ pit, I wanted so badly to say “can we come to your party tonight?” LOL.
