Better

We have had a really fun week, and acted as if we were on vacation. We bought a seven and a half foot tall tree, and decorated it last night, had take out, and did some Christmas shopping.

Oh, Dana and Steff, our life is always this exciting. My kids keep me on my toes I tell ya.

We went to our cousin’s daughter’s birthday party this afternoon, and the kids had a blast. It’s always a neat experience because our cousin David’s wife Linda is Phillipina and thier traditions are a little different than the run-of-the-mill kid birthday party. We had this amazing purple cake that Linda bought from an Asian bakery. It was made from some sort of root, and was only slightly sweet. We all wore red too because it is supossed to be good luck to wear red on your birthday, so we did so she would have extra luck. Usually Miss Bethany (the birthday girl) wears a beautiful traditional asian dress. She is officially eight years old now.

I always enjoy talking with all of Linda’s Phillipina friends, and hearing thier hillarious stories. Those ladies are a barrel of laughs.

While we were there Aaron’s Uncle Neil and I snuck off to his workshop, and he showed me from begining to end how to make a silver mermaid pennant. He has taken up making silver jewelry as a hobby, and it is something I am very interested in learning. It was so cool to see the magic of how to make it from cast, to wax, to molten hot poured silver, to buffer, to wash.

Uncle Niel is a seventy something year’s old and is a really interesting person with lots of amazing stories and hobbies. He is also a lifetime boyscout member and leader. I’ll just say it is never a short vistit when we go to thier house..hehee.]]>
